Dry skin types
This is skin that has a lower content of water and/or fat, and is dull, brittle, thin and inflexible.
When the level of water in the stratum corneum falls below 20%, mainly due to an increase in evaporation, the skin becomes dry and dehydrated; however, this dryness can also be caused by a decrease in the proportion of sebum, which is a mixture of fats that makes up part of the skin mantle, or both causes. The sebum produced by the sebaceous glands, as opposed to the natural phenomenon of excessive evaporation skin, helps hydrate the stratum corneum.
